    Description

    1764 German Manuscript Document Transcript
    Russian Empire
Up for auction is a four-page manuscript document transcript issued in the Russian Empire in 1764. The document is in the German language. No place is indicated, but it was most likely produced in Riga, Livonia, part of the Russian Empire at the time. Among the names listed in the document is that of Johann Valentin Holst (1711-1772), Burgermaister (Major) of Riga, Johann Jacob Schaffer (or Schoeffer), an official of the Riga Magistratum (municipal authorities), and others. I don't read German, so cannot tell you what the document is all about. But a rare item nevertheless.
