    Description

    1770 German Manuscript Document Transcript
    Riga, Livonia, Russian Empire
Up for auction is a four-page manuscript document transcript produced in 1770 in Riga, Livonia (present-day Latvia), a part of the Russian Empire at the time. The document is in the German language. It is signed by George Browne and G. Waga. George Browne was an Irish soldier opf fortune who became full general in the Russian service. Eventually he was appointed Governor of Livonia by the Czar. I don't read German, so I cannot tell what the document is all about. But it must be an important historical document.
