    Whereas 'tis Represented to the Court, that Several of the Deputy Sheriff's for the County of Bristol under Silvester Richmond (Esq), late Sheriff of said County, Served and Executed diverse writs and processes to them directed, without knowing that their power and Authority by the Expiration of the Commission, issued to the said Silvester, Expired upon the 19th day of September 1776, whereby Injury and Injustice will accrue to diverse persons unless, an Adequate Remedy be Provided in that Behalf. It is therefore Resolved, that all Acts and Doings of the said Several Under Deputy Sheriff's in there Respective offices under the said Silvester from and After the 19th day of September, 1776, and until Zephe Leonard (Esq) the Present Sheriff of said County, was Commissioned and from, as Sheriff of said County: Be and hereby are Established Ratified and Confirmed, as fully and effectually to every intent and Purpose, as Tho the Commission Granted to the Said Silvester Richmond (Esq) for Executing the Duties of Sheriff for County of Bristol, Had during that Period been in full Force and Virtue, any Law, Usage, or Custom, to the Contrary Notwithstanding Sent up for Concurrence.
