With 2 engraved portraits, folding engraved "Catalogue des Écoliers", [Schoolchildren Catalog actually names of the students] and large folding engraved broadside "Philosophia Moralis" [The moral philosophy] tipped-in at the end.
511 pages in fine ink cursive, contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt in 6 compartments, all edges dyed red. Spine label reads
    ETHICA VEDASTIN ethics of Vedastin
Arras, France: Abbey Royale de Saint Vaast
    Ex-libris
    J. J. Genard
    Philosophi Vedastini
As pictured in the Catalogue in the list of names is
    Pierre Joseph Genard
    born in 1758. Professors were
    Isidore Lebeau
    and
    Hilaire Weughe
. Further research might see the connection as the name is JJ Genard, not a PJ Genard. The large broadside published by Duaci [Douai] Apud Derbaix, which I think was an advertising broadside for the Class listing professors as Hilario Weugue name is on both tip ins (one in Latin)
    The
    Abbey
of St Vaast (French: Abbaye de Saint-Vaast) was a Benedictine monastery situated in Arras, France. The abbey was founded in 667. Saint Vedast, or Vaast (c. 453–540) was the first Bishop of Arras. At the French Revolution it was suppressed and the monastic buildings were used first as a hospital and then as barracks. In 1838 the premises were purchased by the town; part was used as a museum and archive, and the rest as the residence of the bishop.
