    1787 Early American Document On Hand Laid Paper & In Very Nice Condition. Bristol: Memorandum That On The 26th Day Of September 1787 Personally Appeared Before Me George Godfrey Esq One Of The Justices Of The Peace for the County Of Bristol Nathan Lincoln Of Norton Labourer & Mary Lincoln Of Norton Widow & Edmond Lincoln Of Same Town & Acknowledged Themselves To Be Severely Indebted Commonwealth Of Massachusetts Respective Sums Following Nathan Lincoln As Principal In The Sum Of 20 Pounds & The sd Mary & Edmond As Surety's In The Sum Of 10 Pounds Each To Be Levid On There Goods, Chattels, Lands Or Tenements & In Want Thereof There Bodies. The Condition Of The Above Written Recognizance That Nathan Lincoln Shall Personally  Appear Before The The Justices Of The Court Of The General Sessions Of The Peace To Be Holden At Taunton On The 2nd Tuesday Of March Next Then & There To Answer To Such Matters & Things as Shall be Objected Against Him MORE ESPECIALLY OF HIS THE SD NATHAN WITH FORCE & ARMS ENTERED THE HOUSE OF JOB LINCOLN OF NORTON ON THE NIGHT SEASON OF THE 28th Of NOVEMBER LAST PAST & BEING SO ENTERED IN A MOST VIOLENT MANNER WITH A LARGE STONE IN HIS HAND CAST THE SAME WITH UTMOST FORCE THROUGH THE GLASS WINDOW OF sd JOB DWELLING HOUSE AS TO PREVENT SD PERSONS FROM FOLLOWING THERE & LABOR WITH AN APPREHENSION THEY SOON SHOULD BE DEPRIVED OF THERE NATURAL LIFE & BE OF GOOD BEHAVIOUR IN THE MEANTIME TO THE SUBJECT OF THE COMMONWEALTH DO & RECEIVE WHAT BY SD COURT SHALL BE ENJOINED ON NATHAM NOT TO DEPART WITHOUT LICENSE Then The Above Written Recognizance To Be Void & Non  Affect Otherwise To Abide In Full Force & Power & Virtue.
