    Dated October 28, 1901 on Clarkson's letterhead: "...am very much interested in the election of James A. Blanchard, one of the candidates on the Fusion Ticket for Supreme Judge. In his three years on the bench he has proved his fitness for the place...I know you would like to serve a friend of mine, as I would gladly serve a friend of yours...would be very grateful if you would use your influence in his behalf among your friends in New York County. A word from you to them would call their attention to the great worth of Judge Blanchard, and assure their support for him..."
    Signed by James S. Clarkson,(1842 - 1918) American Republican political figure. Blanchard did win the position. Approx. 8 1/4" x 10 1/2" size; with the imprinted mailing envelope; light wear; in very good condition.
