    Description

    Up for auction is an archival collection pertaining to the 1940s and 1950s country music musician Jimmy Morgan from the personal collection of Morgan’s manager and songwriter, organist, bandleader, record producer, and author Charles “Chaw” Mank, Jr. (1902-1985):
    1)  Hand-written, Signed Letter in pencil. Dated April 6, 1951 to his Manager Charles Mank.
    Discusses the Norfork,
    Nebraska
    radio station WJAG, input from his radio listeners, other radio stations, enclosing a song, and more.
    Measures h-11 x w-8 ½ inches.
    Very good plus condition.
    2)  Original promotional handbill flier for Jimmy Morgan “The Boy from Ol’ Kentucky” broadcasting from radio station WJAG with a sepia photograph of Morgan holding a guitar.
    Includes broadcast range map on the reverse side.
    Measures h-11 x w-8 ½ inches.
    Very good plus condition with center fold and a light pencil annotation on the lower portion.
    3)  Original hand-written and typed song, “The Mail Man Never Knew”.
    Dated June 1947 with words and music by Morgan – typed lyrics with hand-written notes on stock manuscript paper.
    Measures h-12 ¼ x w-9 3/8 inches.
    Very good condition with center fold and handling.
    4)  Original glossy photograph of Jimmy Morgan.
    Undated, circa-early 1950s.
    The sepia image shows Morgan with a guitar and a dog.
    Measures h-6 7/8 x w-5 inches.
    Excellent condition.
