This is the tone stack mod
There is a 15kΩ resistor running from the Bass control to ground (typically soldered to the back of the Bass pot).
insert a 100-220kΩ resistor between the Bass control and the 15kΩ resistor. This is now your "Tone Stack Bypass" setting.
Add a single-pole single-throw switch across your added 100-220kΩ resistor. When the switch is closed, the 100-220kΩ resistor is shorted out, and the tone stack resumes normal function.
The large mid-scoop of the tone stack (as well as the somewhat less signal reduction at bass & treble frequencies) is what reduces your Champ's gain & signal level compared to a tweed Champ. You tone stack bypass is a one-switch means of going between both circuits.b
You can see how this ca easily be returned to stock by removing the 100K resistor and replacing the original pot or you can leave the push pull in as well
Thanks
