    Description

Up for sale is this lovely antique 1845 manuscript friendship/remembrance poem written on a beautiful & ornate piece of stationary.  The paper measures approximately 7 1/2 inches by 5 inches.  A small penciled dealer note on the back of the paper says the piece was originally part of a scrapbook.  There are some remnants of paper to the corners on the backside of the paper.
Here is my translation of the poem:
    January 1
    Forget me not when this
you see twill be the first
of forty five forget I am
    so be it must before
forty [....?....] I may be to dust
A friend I am but power
    short yet true affection
    in my heart
