Authentic Antique Hebrew Torah Manuscript Mezuzah Parchment - Ca 1600-1800’s - A

For sale is this incredible authentic antique handwritten Hebrew manuscript on parchment. This piece would have been placed in a small box or container and attached to the door of a home or office. This type piece is called a Mezuzah in Hebrew. This piece likely dates back to the 1600-1800’s, and was handwritten in classic Hebrew script in black ink by a skilled religious calligrapher. It is in very good condition, and the script is very readable and clear. This manuscript was likely rolled up in a box for years (well protected and treasured). It is made of some sort of animal skin (such as vellum or parchment). The skin is tanned a light (almost white) color, and is very thin. This piece came from a collection that I recently purchased out of Israel. The pieces in the collection were made and used throughout Europe long ago. During the Holocaust, they were brought back down to Israel, where they were preserved from destruction. This is a remarkable antique that would be a perfect addition to any collection! This is a small piece of the Torah from the Old Testament. This was really a difficult piece for me to put a value on. Not only is it a rare document, but it has an incredible story behind it! It would be a perfect piece to display, use as a teaching tool, give as a gift, or even to use! Don’t pass it up!
