    Description

Vintage "Hammond's Guide to The Exploration of Space"  Fold Out Poster (Illustrations and Text)
15 illustrations in full color with information charts, desciptions and explanatory text.
    Measured at 42" x 28 1/2"
The poster is not dated but I did find above the "What is Space" section that two solar satellite (USSR and USA) names/launch dates are given in early 1959.
There is general information given on the following areas:
-A Look at Our Solar System
    -Settlement on the Moon
    -Space Station
    -Space Ships
    -Space Taxi
    -Instrumentive Satellites
    -Nuclear Powered Satellite
    -Television Satellite
    -Battery Powered Satellites
    -Space Suit
    -Rockets
    -Interplanetary Ship Central Control
    -The Tracking Camera
It doesn't look like the poster was ever used or hung.  It has no pin holes.  There are no tears.  It does show some light tanning in some areas.  For that time, it's a really informative poster that was very nicely illustrated.
