    Description

Artist Eli Thomas has a naturalist's eye and a symbolist's heart.
From the reverse side: "This painting was developed for the poster for the Mountain Eagle Indian Festival at Hunter, NY in 1993. Through the tipis the buffalo hides glow with the images of their ancestors.  These images provide the background for the wolves as they sing toward the painted eagle portraying a drama on the tipi.  Delicate eagle images float freely from the tipi  following the Bald Eagle.
The uppermost ski slopes of the mountain form the image of a perched eagle as he oversees the celebration.  A sky person watches over Hunter Mountain, symbolizing good fortune.  A running wolf image travels freely across the sky.  Through the afternoon sun and transparent clouds, burns the image of an eagle, commanding the sky, creating a powerful guiding presence over the gathering of tribes."
