Framed 18th Century French Letter Two
This 18th century french letter bears two distinctive stamps. The first is a round, sepia stamp of a goddess with her staff holding a small winged figure. The stamp is inscribed "REP.", "FRA.", and "25 cen." The second stamp is impresed. Again, there is a goddess, this time with one hand outstretched on a pedestal. At the bottom of the circular impression is "REP FRA." Around the top and sides of the impressed circle is "ADM DES DOM DE LENREG ET DU TIMBRE REP FRA."
Please double magnify the letter to see the actual paper of this 18th century letter. The letter is mounted on sky blue cardstock. The framing is contemporary. The letter itself is 10 inches by 6.75 inches. The frame is 17 inches by 14 inches.
