Original painting
Jerry Lee, a Navajo artist, was born at Wide Ruins on the Navajo Nation in northeastern Arizona. In 1964 won a first place award in the Scottsdale National Indian Art Exhibition. He later studied under Beatien Yazz, who was also known for his depiction of Navajo lifestyle in 2D style. Jerry Lee signs his Navajo name, "Hosteen Nez" along with his english name in his artwork. His work can be found in collections at the Heard Museum in Phoenix Arizona; the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the Museum of Norther Arizona. Now this painting represents the Navajo oral tradition beging taught by grandfather to grandson. In the evening time after all the livestock and chores have been tended to. The painting like others is done with precision. The colors are brilliant and complement each other. A beautiful painting to add to your collection.
