Description
Vietnam War “B” 4-7 Cavalry Silk Guidon * 7th US AIR CAVALRY South Korea circa 1988I purchased This guidon and a 4-7 CAV Sq 50 Star, Regimental National Colors from the same estate. They belonged to a 2LT Maupin. LTC Edwards gave these to 2LT Maupin in 1988 when the 4-7 CAV was re-designated the 17th Cavalry.
For your consideration is this "B" Troop 4-7 Squadron, US Air Cavalry, 2nd Infantry Division Guidon.
This piece is from the Vietnam War and used in South Korea.
This is a Theater made piece and made of silk appliqué on silk. This is a sewn, double sided Guidon.
There is moisture staining on the piece with fading of color from use.
This guidon was manufactured in South Korea and used at Camp Garry Owen by the "B" Troop, 4-7 Cavalry Squadron.
I have pictured another Theater made Guidon from Camp Garry Owen of B Troop from the 1980's showing the usage of 4 over 7 on the Guidon with B out front.
I have a 4-7 Cavalry Regiment Flag listed as well. Both pieces were used at Camp Garry Owen, South Korea.
