Navajo Winter, Watercolor Painting by Robert D. Draper, Signed I believe this Draper painting is outstanding and my photography does not do justice to his quality artwork. You would find running a light finger around the white clouds has touches of acrylic? paint that makes them standout more realistic. This painting is very clear with clean and sharp images. Artist Robert D. Draper (1938-2000) was born Robert Martin (son of Janet Descheeny and Frank Martin) in 1938 in Canyon del Muerto on the Navajo-Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico. He was raised by his grandparents whose name was Draper. When he was eight years old he was sent to the Chinle Boarding School and the school changed his name to Robert Draper. He also attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. He became a art instructor and full-time artist. "Navajo Winter" is 10-1/2 inches wide by 7 inches high. The matting is 14 inches x 11 inches, ready to frame or double matt and frame. Please ask questions prior to bidding. This artwork will be extra carefully packaged and fully insured.
