    Description

Original lithograph supporting the Victory Liberty Loan, a war bond initiative held during 1919 to celebrate the Allies' recent victory in the First World War and to help the US pay remaining war expenses. Artist is Howard Chandler Christy, a celebrated painter and illustrator whose renderings of beautiful women appeared regularly on the covers of magazines such as Harper's, Collier's, and Cosmopolitan. This design is typical in its scantily-clad female model but adds the element of paying tribute to the cultural diversity of the American population and thanking citizens of all ethnic backgrounds for their contributions to winning the war. Dimensions are 28 x 40 inches.
Newly linen backed (10 oz cotton canvas + 100 lb cotton paper) and acid-neutralized. Excellent condition; no fold lines; strong colors; no missing paper. A beautiful example of this design. There are two photos, one with and one without flash. Poster will ship rolled in a hard tube. flat shipping fee for US lower 48. International buyers pay actual shipping via a service of their choice. Please see my other current auctions of French and American WW I posters. Combined shipping on multiple purchases.
