    Description

World War I Propaganda Poster (U.S. Government Printing Office, 1917). Third Liberty Loan Full-Bleed Poster (20" X 30") "Weapons for Liberty." This indelible image of a Boy Scout handing Lady Liberty a sword engraved with the motto "Be Prepared" comes courtesy of artist Joseph Christian Leyendecker. Leyendecker proved to be one of the most preeminent illustrators in America during the early 20th century. Best known for his poster, book, and advertising illustrations, he would produce over 300 covers for The Saturday Evening Post. In immaculate condition, the poster receives the highest grade possible for a piece mounted on linen.
Currently framed, this poster will be removed and shipped in a sturdy tube.
