    Description

Up for bid is a rare original
World War I WWI "Little Ones Do Your Part" Cardboard Poster, produced from 1917-1919. Framed - 23 1/2" x 15 1/2".
This poster produced by the United States Food Administration during World War I urges children to "do their bit" by eating grains that didn't diminish the United States' wheat supply, including cornmeal, oatmeal, hominy and rice. It shows a young boy saluting a bowl of food. Children were also encouraged to finish their entire meal and not let it go to waste. The U.S.F.A. was established in 1917 to administer and stabilize the food supply for the U.S. Army and allied forces. Much of their outreach focused on domestic food consumption and conservation, particularly related to wheat.
The Poster is in Very Good condition with the cardboard having bends.
