WPA patriotic poster showing a lovely woman on a hill with a large american flag in the background.  The text reads: Defense! Long Island Woman Home Defense Day.
The Works Progress Administration, later renamed the Works Projects Administration, was created under President Roosevelt's New Deal. This national program created jobs for millions of unemployed men and women to carry out public projects including building construction, arts, media and literacy projects, food and clothing distribution, and housing. Beautifully designed posters were used to create public awareness of the WPA-funded programs, activities and performances.
All imperfections can be restored by a poster restoration specialist.
Condition is 8.5 out of 10, image is crisp and colorful.
Small crease at lower left corner, a bit yellowed at edges; very good
overall.
