    Description

Original WWI "Bye Dad, Buy US Bonds" Third Liberty Loan Rare 1918 Vintage Poster
Large 30" x 20" World War I Sackett & Wilhelms Corp New York
original propaganda poster. Plastic wrapped with cardboard backing. I have not taken it out of it's protective covering since I acquired it, but it looks to have some black marks around the edges, as well as a tear on the bottom
corner, some creasing and general age wear.
    I
ssued in 1918 by the United States Government to inspire Americans to invest in U.S. Government bonds issued in the Third Liberty Loan to fund the effort to defeat Germany and Austria World War I.
The illustration was created by Lawrence S. Harris (1873-1951), and it depicts a young man in uniform holding his rifle as he shakes hands with his father the urges him to buy bonds from the Third Liberty Loan. The artist's signature appears in the image on the lower left.
