    Original WWI "Hun Or Home" War Bond Poster, Illustrated by Henry Raleigh
    Up for your consideration is a War bond poster from WWI, with the strikingly powerful image of a shadowy, menacing "Hun" rising from the ground, blood on his hands, threatening a young woman carrying a baby. Beautifully illustrated by Henry Raleigh (1880 - 1945), it utilizes a drab, monochromatic palette with a touch plate of red on the German's hands, as well as the baby's wrap. Can't be more clear - or threatening - than that when it comes to propaganda! The image portion of the poster is in very good condition - there are some loses to the edge of the poster, as shown in the images. A small line of discoloration runs horizontally across the top of the poster, about 1/2" down from the image's border - but it does not appear to be a crease. The poster does not appear to have been folded. Sheet size: 19.25" x 29.5". Image size: 18.75" x 28.75". Signed "Raleigh" in the artwork. Printed by Edwards & Deutsch Co., Chicago.
