    Description

    Up for auction is a rare type of papal bull (minus the lead seal) that deals with a specific legal matter. It's in Latin and untranslated. It was issued during the papacy of Benedict XIV (1740-1758) and dated May of 1742 in Limoges. Pope Benedict XIV's name is mentioned near the beginning of the 3rd line. This large vellum bull is in very good condition (the small holes seen are original) and measures approx. 16 1/2 x 13 inches.
