You are bidding on a rare complete Book of Leviticus Bible Scroll (Out of 5 books by Moshe). The scroll is Hand written in the original Hebrew Script on soft brown Deer parchment (Gvil) The scroll came from syria and is approximately 300-350 yrs old. The parchment holds its ink well and the letters remain black and easy to read. The scroll has a warm brown color this is due to the deer parchment that is used and the process used in making the scroll. Scrolls of this type are no longer made and the process for making these distinctive scrolls has been lost over the centuries. Scrolls like these are extremely rare and seldom seen in synagogues due to age and is important for its rarity of the earliest examples the SYRIA tradition of the Hebrew writings of the Bible. Sections are sewn together using a thread called giddin which is made from the leg sinews of a kosher animal. The scroll considering its age is well preserved and will stay beautiful with care for centuries to come.
Except for signs of wear and age such as worn writing and parchment tears. Overall in good condition in relation to his age.
