Details: This is an original, framed, WWI U.S. Marines lithograph poster that was used for recruitment offices in the United States. The illustration is the work of the well-known artist, Sidney H. Riesenberg (1885-1971) who created multiple works for the U.S. Government’s recruitment efforts, this one being his most prominent and longest lasting contribution. It was used as propaganda for war efforts all the way up until 1939, only being modified slightly over the years. It is referred to most commonly as “U.S. Marine Walking Tall,” but it’s noted that many recruiters used to refer to the poster as “The Walking John”.
The lithograph poster comes in the pictured yellow metal frame with the glass.
This is truly an iconic piece of American Marine/Military Memorabilia.
