    Description

The infamous Zuni artist Duane Dishta painted this spectacular piece and included many of the traditional Zuni figures over the painting that has Mesa Verde background.  The three kachinas include a male and female red hair kachinas and a long hair kachina.  There is a rainbow man over the top section of the painting and a raincloud under rainbow man.  The only blemish in this painting is a slight brush mark across the rainbow where it arches toward the head of rainbow man. There are three mudhead kachinas painted under a stunning kolowisi, or water serpent.  The Mesa Verde background is very detailed and a real depiction of that famous Anasazi village in Southwestern Colorado.  No Zuni artist  reached the notoriety that Duane Dishta achieved during his lifetime.  This Duane Dishta painting was purchased by me through Brion Hattie, his stepson.  The beautiful frame is custom made and enhances the beauty of the painting. The actual painting is 23 3/4" wide and  35" tall.  The painting in the frame is 28 1/2" wide and 40 1/2" tall .  Take this opportunity to own a spectatular painting by a renoun Zuni artist.  Sadly, Duane Dishta died in 2011.
